Which Online Colorblind Test?

What color blind test is based on?

Many color blind tests in the industry use the standard ‘Ishihara’ test to measure color perception and screen color deficiencies. The process consists of colored plates, aka Ishihara plates, which contain a number among dots, randomized in size and color. The test is named after Japanese ophthalmologist Shinobu Ishihara (1879-1963), who devised the procedure and first published a description of it in 1917.

Since its creation by Dr. Shinobu Ishihara in 1917 many companies and onlines sites used his model and promoted their test as the most accurate color vision test. Most of these test variations of the Ishihara screening are presented in varying degrees of quality, but what remains the same for all of them is; there is no back up research that proves that the changes they have made will give you a true 100% accurate result.

So beware!

The Ishihara, Divorine, and this online Waggoner PIPHRR color vision test are all pseudoisochromatic color vision tests. This test is not the Ishihara but it is a pseudoisochromatic color vision test. The Waggoner PIPHRR computerized test is considered Ishihara compatible.
