Should You Pass The Colorblind Test?

Color blindness affects approximately every 1 in 12 man (8%) and 1 in 200 women (0.5%). This means there is definitely one colorblind men in your neighborhood or at your workplace.

There are a few websites with colorblind tests some of them are free and for others, you need to pay a small amount. Here is the list of the websites to help you make your decision.


Most of these websites use the Ishihara colorblind test which invented by Dr. Shinobu Ishihara in 1916 and has been found to be a reliable screening method for color deficiency.


Most Accrued & Trusted colorblind Test


The Waggoner CCVT colorblind test is considered superior to Ishihara.


This is the most trusted colorblind test and a multitude of organizations currently use Waggoner colorblind test:

  • U.S. Navy

  • U.S. Army

  • Kaiser Permanente

  • Core Medstaff

This test is also being used in several studies being performed by Ph.Ds.









This test, uses the Ishihara test to measure color perception and screen color deficiencies. The process consists of colored plates, aka Ishihara plates, which contain a number among dots, randomized in size and color. (To get your result you need to signup)


This test, known as the Ishihara Test, makes numbers out of dots that are a different color than the dots surrounding them.


The test is to find the gap in a ‘C shape’. The test is able to determine the type and severity of the protan and deutan type of color blindness.


This test, uses the Ishihara test to measure color perception and screen color deficiencies.


This test is actually designed to be used in a booklet and is usually executed by an eye doctor.


The EnChroma test is based on the Ishihara “hidden digit” test method and is combined with a computer-adaptive algorithm to measure the type and level of color vision deficiency (CVD).
